Cougars Conclude Road Series With Stop At West Coast Baptist Saturday

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team wraps up a four-game road trip on Saturday, Oct. 4 at West Coast Baptist in Lancaster, Calif.

On The Road Again
The Cougars are concluding a four-game road trip, their first of two such ventures in the regular season.  After this stop at West Coast Baptist on Oct. 4, CSUSM is finally back home to host Concordia (Oct. 7) and San Diego Christian (Oct. 14) with a trip to Hope International (Oct. 8) sandwiched in-between. The Cougars then once again hit the road with a three-match tournament hosted by The Master's College (Oct. 17-18) and wrapped up the road-trip at No. 6 Biola (Oct. 23).
 
Strong Presence In National Statistics 
The Cougars are ranked in seven categories at the national level including Top 20 rankings in both total kills (No. 17 - 970) and total assists (No. 19 - 888). The other five rankings are: No. 31 in kills per game (12.760), No. 32 in total service aces (124), No. 33 in assists per game (11.680), No. 39 in hitting percentage (.214) and No. 40 in total digs (1171).  Senior Alyssa Foster and junior Jordan Banich also appear in the rankings.  Foster ranks No. 16 in total assists (704) and No. 25 assists per game (9.920).  Banich ranks No. 34 in kills per game (3.430).

The Lady Eagles are on a six-game win streak after opening the season with eight consecutive losses. WCB is led by senior Jessica Chappell and freshman Kiera Southern.
 
La Sierra Recap
Facing the No. 3 ranked team in the nation, the Cal State San Marcos volleyball team went down fighting in a three-set match at Concordia (Calif.) on Sept. 24. The Cougars challenged the Eagles in the second set, taking the set to 29-27.  Senior outside hitter Alyssa Hubbard and freshman middle hitter Kristin Parker tallied 10 kills apiece to lead the Cougars.
