CSUSM held MRU scoreless for a 5:31 span in the first half, scoring 18 straight points to take a 31-7 lead at the 11:03 mark. MRU battled back within 19, but

Macias gave CSUSM a 71-34 lead with a runner in the lane over a pair of defenders with 15:04 left.
MRU would get as close as 28, but the CSUSM reserves extended the lead back to 38 thanks to a 3-pointer by
Caisan McNamara and a pair of breakaway buckets by
Jacob Andersson.
CSUSM stealth will be put to the test on Saturday night when NCAA Division II Fresno Pacific (5-7) comes to town. The Cougars are 1-1 all-time against the Sunbirds, who Saia coached from 2007-10 before coming to San Marcos.
"Our tournament and our last couple of games have got us ready to go for Fresno Pacific. Our guys are ready to play an athletic team like them. And, it'll be a heck of a game on Saturday," said Saia.
