SAN MARCOS, Calif.— The second ranked Cal State San Marcos softball team will head up the I-5 freeway to Fullerton for a doubleheader Saturday against Hope International. After 11 consecutive wins against the Royals, HIU defeated the CSUSM at home in their last meeting— something the Cougars likely won't forget Saturday.

CSUSM comes into the weekend hot after back-to-back 8-0 wins over La Sierra. Returning All-American and NAIA national leader in wins
Cortney Allen (26-2, 0.82 ERA) is likely to take to the circle for the Cougars against either or both Mea Flores (6-5, 1.62 ERA) or Liz Gonzales (14-8, 1.76 ERA).
The teams have met three times already this season, with the Cougars winning 5-0 and 2-0 and losing 4-0. CSUSM has won 24 of 30 meetings lifetime (.800) against Hope International.

Dave Williams entered 2013 as the fifth
winningest active head coach in the NAIA, and has now jumped to number four after leading the Cougars to a 33-5 record thus far.
The Cougars will look to help him add another milestone Wednesday as Williams, with a career record of 699-207 in his 16 seasons at both Point Loma Nazarene and CSUSM, will look to claim his 700
th victory.
Williams is currently second in NAIA all-time coaching winning percentage at .772, and continues to improve upon that each season. In his fourth year at CSUSM, Williams is 175-37 (.826), and the Cougars have finished every season ranked in the NAIA top five.
