Weekend Preview
The Cougars kick off the weekend with a doubleheader at home against William Jessup, who CSUSM defeated in all four meetings last year by an average of 7.25 runs/game. The Warriors are off to a good start (13-7) in 2013 after finishing second in the Cal Pac Conference last season. The Cougars have won 27 straight games at the CSUSM Softball Field dating back to 2011.

On Saturday, San Marcos will face the Warriors for a third time before taking on Biola at their home field. CSUSM is 16-9 against the Eagles lifetime, but have won each of the last 13 meetings throughout Dave Williams' tenure as head coach. The Cougars took a pair of games at Biola already in February winning 8-0 and 4-2 as Alex Miller racked up three doubles and Patricia Banda tallied five hits.

After a day of rest Sunday, CSUSM will pick back up Monday with a doubleheader against William Woods (Mo.) at home. The two teams have never met, but the Owls from Fulton, Missouri were 32-18 last year and finished 2nd in the American West Conference. William Woods is off to a 2-4 start in the 2013 season.

Quick Starters, Strong Finishers
Through 21 games, CSUSM has outscored their opponents 23-2 in the first inning, and has jumped to an early lead after the first frame in 13 games. On the other end of things, the Cougars haven't lost a game all season when leading after two innings.

Rain Watch
With precipitation in the forecast for Friday, the Cougars are still planning to host William Jessup at 1:30pm with the hope that it will be marginal or non-existent. If something changes, updates will be announced via csusmcougars.com and the CSUSM Cougars facebook page.
