Box Score 2 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Olivia Lucatuorto went 4-for-7 with five RBI and a run scored on her 20
th birthday and the No. 1 Cal State San Marcos softball team finished off a four-game sweep of Arizona Christian, 8-0 (6 inn.) and 12-0 (5 inn.), on Saturday afternoon at North Canyon High School.
Lucatuorto went 3-for-3 in game one, tallying five RBI on a pair of singles and a double, before connecting with an infield single in game two.
She got the scoring underway in the first inning of game one, singling home
Kaitlin McGinley with a base hit to center. In the third, Lucatuorto found the gap in right center with a double to send in
Patricia Banda and McGinley.
Leading 3-0 in the fourth,
Alex Miller and McGinley plated off of Lucatuorto's single through the right side.
Banda cracked an RBI triple in the sixth and Tani Lesau singled home Banda to make it 8-0.
Jourdan Lamoureux worked the final half of the sixth without allowing a hit to cap-off the run-rule victory. Starter
Cortney Allen (9-1) pitched five innings of one-hit ball, her second one-hit, five-inning outing in the series.
McGinley finished game one 2-for-3 with a walk and four runs scored, while Banda went 2-for-4 and scored twice.
CSUSM (14-3) erupted for 14 hits in game two, half of which were for extra bases, in a five-inning, 12-0 victory.
Lesau went 3-for-3 with four RBI and a pair of doubles, while Banda went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored. Miller also doubled twice and McGinley added an RBI triple in the first inning.
Miller went 3-for-4 in game two.
ACU dropped to 0-14 overall in its first season of intercollegiate competition.
CSUSM returns to action with four games this weekend in March 1 and 3's Cougar Clash at CSUSM Softball Field. The Cougars face ACU and Hope International on Friday, March 1 before hosting ACU and La Sierra on Sunday, March 3.
