Box Score SAN MARCOS, Calif. – James Dykstra threw seven scoreless innings as the Cal State San Marcos baseball team shutout Chapman 3-0 on Monday afternoon at CSUSM Baseball Field.
Dykstra (2-0) struck out nine and limited the Panthers to just three hits on the way to his second win of the season. The Cougars remain perfect on the young season at 4-0 overall.

Kyle Kuck on an RBI groundout in the bottom of the second inning.
Kyle Secciani cracked a one-out triple to right center in the seventh inning and scored on Ben Vietze's wild pitch to top off the scoring.
Frank Charlton retired the side for the Cougars in the eighth before
Hunter Brown secured his second save of the season with a scoreless ninth.
Dykstra, a senior out of Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, has allowed just a single earned run in 14 innings through his first two starts. His ERA sits at 0.64.
Chapman (1-3) and CSUSM play again Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at CSUSM Baseball Field.
