Box Score IRVINE, Calif. – Cassie Damyanovich registered 25 points as the Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team snapped a three-game skid with a 77-67 road victory over Concordia (Calif.) on Thursday night at CU Arena.
Trailing 39-38 at the break, CSUSM outscored CUI 40-29 in the second frame to pull out the victory. The Cougars held the Eagles to 24.2 percent from the field while shooting at a 58.2 percent clip in the final stanza.
Damyanovich went 9-of-14 from the field, added three 3-pointers and pulled down nine rebounds, as the Cougars improved to 10-17 overall on the season.
Heather Thompson recorded a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 14 boards.

Mechel'la Logan tallied 13 and 11, respectively.
Sarah Jackson handed CSUSM a 42-41 advantage with 17:03 remaining, starting an 11-2 run that saw the Cougars go up by eight at the 10:16 mark. CUI answered with a three, but CSUSM answered with an 11-3 stretch to make it 63-50 with five minutes to play.
CUI edged back within six, but a jumper by Thompson in the paint followed by a pair of free throws by Damyanovich increased the lead to 71-62 with 41 seconds left. The Cougars went 6-of-6 from the stripe down the stretch to seal the win.
Concordia dropped to 5-15 on the year.
