Box Score OCEANSIDE, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team fell to visiting Point Loma Nazarene 90-52 on Wednesday night at MiraCosta College.

The Cougars turned the ball over 31 times and were held to 36.7-percent shooting, as the Sea Lions used a 37-8 run to end the first half to turn improve to 6-9 overall.

CSUSM drops to 9-17 and has now fallen in eight of its last nine.

Heather Thompson narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds, while Sherika Miller led the Cougars with 14 points. Cassie Damyanovich added seven off the bench and Alexandria Alvarado recorded six points.

Five Sea Lions finished in double figures, led by Callie Rhoads' 20 on 8-of-8 shooting. Carlott Kloppenburg pitched in with 18 and Jessica Escorza scored 14. PLNU went 10-of-22 from behind the arc and registered 21 total assists on 31 made baskets.

The Cougars return to action on January 31 at Concordia (Calif.). CSUSM took down CUI, 78-57, earlier this season on Dec. 18 at MiraCosta College.
