LAS VEGAS, Nev.— The Cal State San Marcos women's volleyball team picked up two big victories Sunday to win the University of Great Falls Tournament in Las Vegas and extend their winning streak to a program record eight games.
 
The Cougars— ranked No. 23 in the NAIA preseason poll— recorded their third victory in three matches against other ranked opponents this season, this time taking down No. 7 Rocky Mountain in straight sets 25-20, 25-16, 25-21.
 
In the afternoon, CSUSM beat tournament host University of Great Falls in four sets to clinch the tournament win. Box scores for each game will not be made available until Tuesday.
 
The Cougars (11-2) will look to extend their winning streak Thursday, September 6 against Azusa Pacific, a perennial NAIA title contender that has moved into NCAA Division II. The match will be the first of five for CSUSM in the Cal Poly Pomona Invitational.
