SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos Athletics Department and the CSUSM Alumni Association will host the fifth annual Cougar Scramble Golf Tournament presented by TaylorMade on November 5 at Shadowridge Country Club in Vista, Calif. All proceeds from the event will go towards student scholarships and Alumni Association endowed scholarships.
Interested participants can sign up a foursome or as an individual to take part in the tournament. Cal State San Marcos' goal this year is to exceed the $38,000 raised for student scholarships during the 2011 tournament.
“The Cougar Scramble presented by TaylorMade is a wonderful annual event for Cal State San Marcos. I enjoy collaborating with our Alumni office to make this event a reality,” said Director of Athletics
Jennifer Milo. “All revenue from this golf tournament go toward scholarships for students. My hope is the Cougar Scramble sells out and that we raise our sponsorship commitments. See you on the course!”
In addition to 18 holes of golf with a cart, participants will receive a continental breakfast, barbecue lunch, gift bag and Cougar gear. During the round, golfers are eligible to win Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Hole-in-One and various other prizes.
Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. play will begin with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. The barbecue lunch will take place at the course after the round, and will include an opportunity drawing and silent auction.
Registration is $1,100 per foursome or $275 an individual. Golfers are encouraged to purchase a $50 Tour Card, which includes entry into the Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive and Hole-in-One contests; in addition, 10 opportunity tickets, two mulligans and one car raffle entry are included with a Tour Card purchase.
