The Cal State San Marcos Athletic Department drew the winning ticket of a 2012 Ford Fiesta during the 7^th inning stretch of Saturday's A.I.I. Baseball Tournament held at CSUSM, and announced freshman Dana Schmalzel from Clovis, CA as the winner.

The Fiesta, graciously provided by Heller Ford and Hyundai in Escondido, was raffled off over the course of the season with all proceeds going towards student-athlete scholarship funds. The 2012 Ford Fiesta offers a package of fuel efficiency and fun, with sporty, agile performance while delivering up to 40 miles per gallon.

The winner, Dana Schmalzel, was ecstatic when she heard the news while competing at the Occidental Invitational Track Meet that afternoon. In addition to running the steeplechase, Schmalzel was also a member of the 2011 NAIA National Champion Cross Country team this fall.

CSUSM would like to congratulate Dana on her new car, and thank Heller Ford, Dave Pedder, and all raffle participants for their generous donation in helping raise over $35,000 towards scholarship funds.
