Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
The #2 ranked Cal State San Marcos Softball Team picked up a pair of road victories at Hope International Saturday 3-1 and 8-0, completing a 7-game sweep of the Royals this season. The Cougars, who have already put together a 22-game winning streak this season, are now in the midst of a 9-game streak after Saturday's games.

Game 1 (CSUSM 3 – Hope 1)

Box Score

The Cougars jumped on the board in the first inning after a Royal error brought home Kaitlin McGinley to make the score 1-0. In the third inning, San Marcos extended their lead to three in the third inning with a two-run blast by Alyssa Dronenburg— her 14th homerun of the season.

Hope would garner a run back in the bottom half of the third, but that was all they would muster against CSUSM ace Cortney Allen, who struck out five in a complete game victory. Allen allowed just 5 hits and one run in moving to 14-3 on the season.

Game 2 (CSUSM 8 – Hope 0) *5 innings

Box Score

The explosive CSUSM offense came out firing in the second game Saturday, scoring 8 runs by the 4th inning and pounding out 10 hits in a run-rule shortened game.

Theresa Houle hit her 14th home run of the year, tying her with teammate Alyssa Dronenburg for 6th in the NAIA this season. Alex Miller, Sarah Quimbao, and Alicia Ingram each had two hits, and Kaitlin McGinley hit a double and drove in two runs.

On the mound, Katie Wilkinson shined once again, picking up her 13th win without a loss after 4 innings of 1-hit, shutout baseball.

The Cougars play again Sunday in their final home date of the season in a doubleheader against La Sierra starting at 12:00 pm. CSUSM Seniors Alicia Ingram, Alyssa Dronenburg, and Theresa Houle will be honored between games.
