The bats were out in full force Friday for the Cal State San Marcos Softball team as they put on a display for all the home fans at the CSUSM Cougar Clash to see. San Marcos scored 30 runs in just 12 innings, pounding out 19 and 18 hits in games one and two, respectively. With the victories, the Cougars are now 23-2 on the season, and have extended their winning streak to 14 games.

The Cougars offense came out sharp Friday morning, scoring 4 runs in the first frame, and never slowed down en route to season highs of 15 runs and 19 hits.
7 different Cougars recorded multi-hit games, and
Alex Miller,
Olivia Lucatuorto, and
Caitlin Monnahan each recorded 3 base knocks apiece in the game. Monnahan had 2 doubles and 3 RBI's, and
Alyssa Dronenburg went 2-4 with 4 RBIs.
Theresa Houle hit her 7
th homerun of the season, tying her for most on the team with Dronenburg.
Cortney Allen pitched 6 strong innings allowing 0 earned runs while striking out 6, and earned her 7
th win of the season. William Jessup drops to 12-7 on the season with the loss.

CSUSM scored in every inning as the offense continued to roll at the Cougar Clash. Freshman
Kimberle Smith was everywhere for the Cougars, pitching 3 shutout innings on the mound before switching over to catcher for the last two innings. With the victory, Smith moves to 6-0 on the season, and she even ripped a double and scored a run in her only at-bat.
The top three batters in the Cougar lineup (
Alicia Ingram,
Kaitlin McGinley, and
Alyssa Dronenburg) each had 3 hits in the game, and McGinley drove in 4 runs thanks in part to her first career over-the-fence homerun. The speedy McGinley hit an inside-the-park HR earlier this season.
The Cougars swiped 3 stolen bases in the game, and now have 49 on the season.
Alicia Ingram is 15-16 on stolen bases attempts this year and
Kaitlin McGinley is a perfect 16-16. San Marcos pitchers have allowed just 6 stolen bases this season.
Caitlin Monnahan went 2-2 batting to continue her hot hitting at the plate. Monnahan went 5-for-7 again Friday after putting up the same line on Thursday.
