The Cal State San Marcos Baseball team took a pair of games on the road at Biola, winning 10-2 and 3-1 Friday to extend their winning streak to three and grab the weekend series against a tough GSAC opponent.
Game 1 (CSUSM 10 - Biola 2)

The Cougars offense had a field day against Biola pitching, rapping out 10 runs on 12 hits. Each of the hitters in the 2-7 spots for the Cougars recorded at least two runs or two RBIs.
Left Fielder Anthony Renteria hit a double and his 5th home run of the season, and third baseman Austin Coleman slammed his team leading 6th homerun as one of his three hits. Designated hitter Trent Jemmett also recorded a three-hit day, bringing in 2 RBIs
The Cougars also excelled on the mound, as James Dykstra (3-1) turned in another strong outing on the heels of his complete game victory last time out. Dykstra went 7 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 5 hits, and struck out 6 batters. Kevin Hilton closed out the game with two scoreless innings, striking out two.
Game 2 (CSUSM 3 - Biola 1) *7 innings

Anthony Renteria homered for the second time Saturday, giving the Cougars an early 1-0 lead and tying teammate Austin Coleman for the team lead in home runs at 6. Biola tied the game in the bottom of the second of CSUSM started Scott Myers, but would not score the rest of the game. Myers went 3 2/3 innings, allowing just the one run, and struck out 2 batters in moving to 3-2 on the year.
The Cougars re-took the lead in the fifth inning when Kyle Secciani brought home Corey McCloskey on a sacrifice fly to make the score 2-1. Secciani would bring home Michael Mecucci in the 7th inning on another sac fly to add an insurance run for closer Andrew Larson. Larson went two innings, allowing just one hit, and picked up his 4th save of the season.
CSUSM plays next Tuesday March 20th as they host Sioux Falls (SD) at home starting at 1:00 PM.
