The #2 ranked Cal State San Marcos Softball team swept a pair of games Saturday afternoon in dominant fashion, defeating La Sierra 10-1 and Pomona-Pitzer 10-0. The Cougars scored 10 runs for the 4
th and 5
th times this season, and
Cortney Allen pitched a perfect game against Pomona-Pitzer, becoming just the 2
nd pitcher in program history to do so.

The Cougars started the day off nicely with 3 runs in the first frame, and scored in all 5 innings against La Sierra. Leadoff hitter
Alicia Ingram went 2-for-4 with a double and 3 stolen bases in the game, and 6 Cougars in total recorded 2 hits, as the offense exploded for 10 runs on 14 hits.
Freshman standout
Katie Wilkinson pitched a complete game, allowing just 2 hits in 5 innings pitched. Wilkinson recorded 11 of the 15 outs via groundout, and now moves to 5-0 on the season.
Game 2 (CSUSM 10 – Pomona-Pitzer 0) *5 innings

Cortney Allen threw a perfect game against Pomona-Pitzer, sending all 15 Sagehen batters down in order and racking up 5 strikeouts. Allen (3-2) is the second CSUSM pitcher to record a perfect game, as only two-time All-American Brenna Sandburg had done so previously. Freshman
Brittany Grier was the catcher.
Cal State San Marcos kept up the pace on offense, scoring 10 runs in the first 4 innings, before finally being held scoreless in an inning for the first time all day in the fifth.
Alex Miller and
Kaitlin McGinley each went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI's as the Cougars pounded out 12 hits on the afternoon. The Cougars also went 6-for-6 in stolen bases, making them a perfect 12-for-12 on the day.
The Cougars move to 13-2 on the year, and will return home to begin play in the CSUSM Cougar Clash Tournament starting March 2
