The Cal State San Marcos Softball Team closed out their weekend in Las Vegas with another pair of victories over Vanguard (CA) and Grand View (IA). The Cougars took the first game 6-1, and the second one 6-2, finishing the weekend undefeated at 4-0.
Game 1 (CSUSM 6 – Vanguard 1)

The Cougars offense was back in full force again Saturday, racking up 10 hits in a 6-1 victory over the opposing Lions, led by a pair of homeruns by two Cougar cousins.
Theresa Houle hit a 2-run homerun, her second of the season, while her cousin
Kaitlin McGinley zoomed around the bases for a solo inside-the-park homerun. The homerun was McGinley's first in her career.
Cortney Allen earned the win for the Cougars, pitching 5 innings and allowing just 2 hits. In all, the CSUSM pitching staff allowed only 4 hits on the day.

th time in 4 games this weekend, the Cougars reached double-digits in hits, on their way to 6 runs and 10 hits against Grand View (IA).
Sarah Quiambao led the offense for CSUSM, going 3-for-3 at the plate with 3 RBI's.
On the mound, the Cougars allowed just 2 runs on 2 hits, receiving another excellent performance on the mound.
CSUSM is now 8-1 on the 2012 season, and will put their record and #2 ranking to the test next weekend, playing 4 games in Riverside, CA.
