The #2 ranked Cal State San Marcos Softball team continued their hot start to 2012 with two dominant victories in the Las Vegas Tournament, defeating Vanguard (CA) 11-0 and Grand View (IA) 11-3 Friday.

In the first game against Vanguard, the Cougars racked up 11 runs on 12 hits in an offensive explosion against the first NAIA opponent San Marcos has faced this season. CSUSM went 4-1 in a tournament last weekend against NCAA Division II schools.

In the second game, the CSUSM bats once again found the gaps, as the Cougars racked up 11 runs on 13 hits. The Cougars threw the ball well and allowed just 3 runs on 5 hits. San Marcos played error-free defense all day, and allowed just 8 hits between the two games.
