Cal State San Marcos Athletics is pleased to announce Michael Curran as the department's Assistant Athletic Trainer.

A New Jersey native, Curran has worked in Southern California since becoming the Head Athletic Trainer at Fallbrook High in 2005.  In 2006 he served as an athletic trainer at CSUSM, working with the first-ever Cougar soccer, baseball, and softball teams before moving on to become an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the U.C. Santa Barbara.  For the Gauchos, Curran was responsible for the care, prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for the Varsity Baseball and Women's Soccer programs from 2006-2008.

“Obviously I'm very excited to be back in San Marcos,” said Curran.  “The people and the atmosphere here are great, and I'm very happy to re-join the athletic program.”

Curran will work with Head Athletic Trainer Michelle Hamilton to provide athletic training coverage to the University's 14 intercollegiate sports.
