Cal State San Marcos will be hosting the A.I.I. Conference Championships Saturday, November 5
th at 9:00AM on the Mangrum Track and Soccer Field. The men's 8-kilometer race will go off first, followed by the women's 5K shortly thereafter. The winning team in each race will earn an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships in Fort Vancouver, WA.
The field will be competitive as the #2 ranked Cougar women and the #8 ranked men attempt to win their 4
th consecutive A.I.I. Championship. The Cougars will compete against University of British Columbia (Canada), Arizona Christian, Soka University, Johnson and Wales (CO), Dakota State (SD), Jamestown (ND), SCAD Atlanta (GA), and Valley City State (ND).
The Cougar men have made NAIA Nationals every year in program history, dating back to 1999, and the women are two-time defending National Champions. However, each squad will face a tough ranked opponent Saturday, as the women square off against #3 ranked British Columbia, and the men will go toe-to-toe with a British Columbia team that returns its entire top-7 from a squad that finished 8
th at NAIA Nationals in 2010.
