SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos' Ziggy Nacco has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of Sept. 28 - Oct. 4. Nacco, a senior from Larkspur, recorded a 24:34.3 in the 8k race at CSUSM's Cougar Challenge on Saturday, securing the seventh-place finish. His performance guided San Marcos to a second-place team finish. This was Nacco's first CCAA Men's Runner of the Week honor in his career. This is CSUSM's sixth since joining the CCAA in the 2015 season. Shea Vavra (2018, 2x in 2021) was honored three times, while Vahagn Isayan (2016) and Sankalp Shastri (2024) were awarded once. Click here for the history of CCAA Player of the Week awards. The Cougars will travel to UC Riverside for the Highlander Invitational in Riverside on Saturday, October 17th.
