COURSE REPORT
The Cal State San Marcos men's cross country team placed sixth out of 25 teams in the Invitational 8K race at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday morning, totaling 235 points. The Cougars also competed in the Open 8K race, where four CSUSM runners took part.

Invitational - 8K Highlights
- Ziggy Nacco led the Cougars with a 23rd-place finish in 24:10.7, moving to No. 4 on CSUSM's all-time 8K performers list.
- Braden Oberg followed in 36th place with a time of 24:24.4, good for No. 12 on the program's all-time 8K list.
- Jaime Gachuzo recorded a time of 24:39.9 to place 54th, moving into No. 14 on the all-time performers list.
- Jayson Oliver finished 65th in 24:48.4, earning the No. 22 spot on CSUSM's all-time 8K list.
- Jacob Perez rounded out the Cougars' scoring five in 78th place with a time of 24:54.9.
- Owen Hinz (100th, 25:06.0) and Ben Stephens (140th, 25:28.9) also competed for CSUSM.
Open - 8K Highlights
- Ryan Chelesnik led CSUSM in the Open race, placing 77th in 26:18.4.
- Dominic Esquivel followed in 176th place with a time of 27:39.6.
- Benjamin Callanan placed 179th at 27:46.3.
- Jack Vranish completed the Cougars' Open entries in 182nd place with a time of 27:47.3.

The Cougars will return to action Saturday, Oct. 3, when they host the Cougar Challenge in San Marcos.
