Results

The Cal State San Marcos outdoor track & field team opened its season on Saturday, competing at the Rossi Relays, hosted by Claremont Mudd-Scripps.

The Men's 4x800 meter relay team of Muluken Beressa, Patrick Fitzgerald, Brett Campfield, and Dave Edwards qualified for "A" standard at Nationals with a time of 7:45.60. Beressa, Campfield, and Edwards teamed up with Chris Capeau to set a school record in the Men's 4x1600 meter relay, finishing in 17:25.01.

Yuto Someya finished in third in the Men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.23 seconds. He is within a few seconds of the qualifying mark.

On the women's side, Carol Schryver, Suzanne Scrimenti, Brooke Smith, and Kelly Thompson, set a school record of 22:02.34 in the 4x1600 meter relay race.
