Box Score Cougar women's soccer turned in an outstanding effort on Monday, going on the road to defeat University of La Verne 3-0.
The win snaps a 4-game winless streak for the Cougars, who improve to 4-4-3 on the season. La Verne falls to 2-8-1.
It was a spirited effort for CSUSM, who took command of the game early and never let go. The Cougars led 2-0 at the half, with goals by
Taylor Schurman and
Lauren Johnson.
Arielle Cohen added a third to close out the 3-0 win.
Brittini Salmon performed admirably in goal, earning her first shutout by stopping three shots.
CSUSM will face a tough test at home on Wednesday when they host San Diego Christian.
