Kate Bouvatte has been named the CSUSM Female Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of November.

Bouvatte, a senior from San Marcos, earned NAIA All-America honors while helping the Cougars to a seventh-place finish at the NAIA National Championship on Nov. 22 in Lawrence, Kan. She finished the 5K course in a time of 17:59.20, good enough for sixth place – the second-highest finish by any CSUSM runner in school history.

She helped CSUSM take second place at the A.I.I. Conference Championship, placing second overall with a time of 17:51.6 and earning her all-conference distinction.

The All-America recognition was the fourth All-America award for the harrier in her CSUSM career; she was a three-time NAIA All-American in track & field last spring.

Bouvatte was also named CSUSM Student-Athlete of the Month in October.
