Cal State San Marcos Athletics

SoCal Volleyball Coaching Director Aimee Asebroek has accepted a Volunteer Assistant Coach position on the Cal State San Marcos volleyball coaching staff.

Led by Head Coach Andrea Leonard, Cougar volleyball is 16-5 and ranked #17 in the NAIA in its inaugural season of competition.  Asebroek will bring plenty of experience in recruiting, training support, and scouting to a staff that includes Leonard and Assistant Coach Andrew Bennett.

"We are lucky to get Aimee into the Cougar program," said Leonard.  "Running her successful club program at SoCal VBC gives her a very good understanding of the volleyball landscape here in North County.  We expect to be able to retain great high school volleyball players from the county and Aimee will be able to support that with her extensive knowledge in the clubs and high school programs.  Additionally, her club understands the importance of community and her program has reached out to CSUSM Women's Volleyball during this very formative period.  We are very appreciative of her efforts so far."

Aimee adds, "I was not really looking to take on more between Directing SoCal VBC and coaching at San Marcos High School, but I have deep respect for Coach Leonard and can learn a lot from her coaching experience at Boston College, San Diego State and now, CSUSM.  The mission and agenda that Coach Leonard talks about in her program resonates with me and is very much the same mission we subscribe to at SoCal.  I am thrilled to support a growing program right here in the North County."
