Stephanie Shadwell enters her first season as an assistant coach for the CSUSM women’s basketball team in 2014-15.
Shadwell served as the Cal State Fullerton assistant coach for from 2000 to 2003 under the direction of Barbara Ehardt. In addition to her on court responsibilities, she coordinated youth summer camps, assisted in recruiting and aided in tracking goals and academic progress with all student-athletes.
Shadwell returns to collegiate basketball after working the past eight years at the high school level. After a two year stint as an assistant coach at San Marcos High School, Shadwell moved to Washington and served as a volunteer assistant coach at Kingston High School and North Kitsap High School. During this time, she also worked as a youth and sports director at the YMCA in Silverdale, Wash. and Page Youth Center in Santa Barbara.
From 2003-05, Shadwell was a physical education teacher at St. Anne School in Laguna, Calif. and was the head coach at J. Serra High School in San Juan Capistrano, Calif.
Prior to earning a Master's degree in Physical Education at Azusa Pacific in 2004, Shadwell received a Bachelor's of Art degree in Sociology with a minor in Sports Management at UC Santa Barbara in 2000. She was a member of the Gaucho women's basketball team between 1995-2000 that made three NCAA Tournament appearances.
