Born and raised in Carlsbad, Sabrina was a 2006 graduate from Carlsbad High School where she played basketball for four years and competed in track & field for three.
A decorated athlete, Gonzalez was
First-Team All Avocado League and Third Team All-CIF San Diego section in basketball, as well as a Scholar-Athlete and North County All-Star Game MVP.
Gonzalez went on to play two very successful seasons at Palomar College under Coach Sheri Jennum, earning Conference Player of the Year honors and being named Third Team All-State in the 2006-2007 season. As a freshman, she ranked third in the league in scoring at 17.0 points per game. The following year, she would raise that mark to 18.3 ppg, earning her second All-Conference nod and being named First Team All-State. Gonzalez helped Palomar to a 27-6 overall record and a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play, winning the 2007-2008 Pacific Coast Conference title.
Gonzalez would go on to play one season at Cal State Fullerton before transferring to Cal State San Bernardino and redshirting in the 2009-2010 season. In 2010-2011, she averaged 11.9 ppg and ranked third in the league in 3-point field goals made, and was named All-CCAA Second-Team.
Sabrina graduated from CSUSB in June of 2011, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree is Sociology.
