Assistant coach Art Warren has spend the last seven seasons at CSUSM. A 1973 graduate of United States International University, Art was the MVP of the Westerner baseball team that won the NAIA Championship in 1973.
Art is retired after 34-plus years in the Escondido Union High School District, where he was a teacher, coach, athletic director, and assistant principal. He serves as a member of CSUSM's Athletic Advisory Committee in support of the burgeoning athletic programs at the school.
Art's coaching career includes serving as assistant baseball coach under legendary coach John Sealvy for one year, head coach at Mira Costa College for two years, high school basketball coach (five years) and baseball coach (five years), and an assistant coach in girl's volleyball and football. In addition, Art has served as an area scout for the Phildelphia Phillies and has officiated high school football, basketball, as well as high school and college baseball for many years.
Art is married to Laura and is the father of four girls and one boy, all college graduates. He is thrilled to be working with and mentoring college athletes.
