CSUSM Starts 2026 Campaign with Scoreless Draw at Westmont

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (0-0-1) opened its 2026 season with a scoreless draw at Westmont (0-1-1) on Saturday afternoon at Thorrington Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Scoreless after 45 minutes, CSUSM led the half in shots (3-0), shots on goal (1-0) and corner kicks (8-1).
  • It was the same story in the second half as the Cougars led the period in shots (4-2), shots on goal (3-1) and corner kicks (7-3) while seeing no goals from either side.

QUICK KICKS
  • CSUSM ended the game with the edge in shots (7-2), shots on goal (4-1) and corner kicks (15-4) as Addison Leite led the game with two shots that were both on goal.
  • CSUSM is now 6-2-2 in the all-time series against Westmont.
  • This was just the second draw in the 10 meetings between the Cougars and Warriors as they previously went scoreless in 2010.
