SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The No. 3 Cal State San Marcos softball team (42-5, 24-4 CCAA) celebrated Senior Day on Saturday at CSUSM Softball Field, completing its fifth CCAA series sweep of the 2026 season with wins of 4-1 and 10-2 (six innings) over Cal Poly Humboldt (19-24, 10-12 CCAA). With the doubleheader sweep, the Cougars also closed out the regular season with a perfect 20-0 record at home, finishing unbeaten in San Marcos.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After four scoreless innings, the Cougars broke through in the bottom of the fifth. Alizabeth Ruiz opened the frame with a single, and CSUSM took advantage of a pair of Humboldt errors to score the first run. Jillian Albayati followed with an RBI single up the middle, and Zoe Karam capped the inning with a two-run home run to left field to give the Cougars a 4-0 lead.
- Cal Poly Humboldt scored its lone run in the sixth when Alyssa Ramirez doubled to left center, driving in Bridgette Boling.
- Jordan Hill worked out of the inning and retired the side in order in the seventh to secure the complete-game victory.

- CSUSM's Jordan Hill (14-3) threw a complete game for the win, allowing one run on two hits with three strikeouts in 7.0 innings.
- Humboldt's starting pitcher Lily Fournier (9-11) took the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits in 6.0 innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM took control of the nightcap with a six-run fourth inning. Zoe Karam scored on a wild pitch to open the scoring before Angelina Rodriguez delivered a two-RBI single. Kaila Siu added an RBI single before the Cougars capitalized on defensive miscues to push the lead to 6-0.
- Cal Poly Humboldt responded with two runs in the sixth as Shelby Shanks lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Alyssa Ramirez, and Katlyn Gifford followed with an RBI single to left field that brought home Bella Garcia.
- CSUSM answered immediately in the bottom of the inning when Karam blasted a two-run home run to center field. Lauren DePlitch later added an RBI single to extend the lead to 10-2 and seal the run-rule victory.

- CSUSM starting pitcher Madison Cabrera (9-0) registered the win after allowing two runs on two hits with two strikeouts over 5.1 innings.
- Humboldt's Ariana Bottel (4-6) took the loss after giving up six runs (five earned) on four hits and three walks in 3.2 innings.
- Zoe Karam knocked out her team-leading 13th home run of the season, moving her into the top spot in the CCAA.

- This marks the first time CSUSM has gone undefeated at home in the regular season since moving to NCAA Division II and the second time in program history. The 2012 Cougars went 21-0 at home before finishing the regular season with an overall 55-6 record in the NAIA era.Â
