SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos' Zech Samayoa has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Player of the Week for the week of March 23-29. 

Samayoa led CSUSM with a .667 batting average, three doubles, two home runs, 10 RBIs, and 19 total bases in the Cougars' series win over Stanislaus State. The redshirt senior had an RBI and hit in each game while posting a .688 on-base percentage and a 1.583 slugging percentage.

In Saturday's opener, Samayoa homered and drove in three. He followed up in the nightcap by going 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBIs. 

Samayoa now leads CSUSM with 10 home runs, 35 runs batted in, 66 total bases, a 1.447 OPS, a .971 slugging percentage, and a .382 batting average for the season. He is tied for third in the CCAA in home runs and is fifth in RBIs. Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders.

CSUSM (20-7, 7-5 CCAA) is tied for second in the CCAA standings. The Cougars will be on the road this week to face Cal State Dominguez Hills in a four-game set starting on Thursday, Apr. 2. All four games are scheduled to be available on FloCollege.
