CHICO, Calif. – The No. 1 Cal State San Marcos softball team split Friday's CCAA doubleheader at Wildcat Field, dropping a 1–0 heartbreaker in the opener before erupting for a 12–2 run‑rule victory in game two. Despite seeing their 20‑game win streak snapped, the Cougars continued their best start of the NCAA Division II era.
