SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cold second-half shooting by the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team (10-10, 7-8 CCAA) played a key role as it fell 74-69 to Cal Poly Pomona (12-9, 7-8 CCAA) on Thursday night at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Broncos began the game on a 7-0 run, but the Cougars countered with a 13-3 run and took their first lead at 13-10 on a Remington Rofer layup with 12:09 remaining.
- Up 25-24, CSUSM took its largest lead of the half with a 9-0 run as Veljko Munitlak made a layup to make it 34-24 with 3:36 to go.
- The Cougars took a 41-35 lead into halftime after shooting 53.3% (16-of-30) from the field and 53.8% (7-of-13) from deep, while the Broncos shot 52% (13-of-25) from the field and 53.3% (8-of-15) from three.
- CSUSM capitalized with 14 points off CPP's seven first-half turnovers.
- The Broncos retook the lead at 57-56 thanks to a 10-0 run that was capped by an Edric Dennis 3-pointer with 9:07 left in the game.
- Aaron Ragen ended CPP's run with a 3-pointer to give CSUSM the lead again at 59-57 with 7:16 to go.
- Tied at 64-all with 4:05 to play, the Broncos took the lead for good on a Michael Saba jumper to go up 66-64 with 3:33 remaining and eventually went up by five at 72-67 on a Malcolm Bell second-chance layup with 1:23 to go.
