The Cal State San Marcos men's cross country team placed second out of 22 teams in the Open 8K race at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday, scoring 112 points. In the Invitational 8K division, CSUSM competed individually but did not register a team score.

- Alan Jimenez led CSUSM with a 12th-place finish in an 8K PR time of 24:04.2, the third-best time in program history.
- Braden Oberg placed 41st with an 8K PR time of 24:36.0, moving up to 12th in CSUSM's All-Time Top 25 Performances.
- Renton McGregor finished 61st in 24:52.1.
- Jacob Brown came in 91st with a time of 25:08.3.
- Anthony Martinez crossed in 101st at 26:40.0.
