COURSE REPORT:Â Led by
Alan Jimenez's fifth-place finish, the Cal State San Marcos men's cross country team placed third out of eight teams at its home meet, the Cougar Challenge, on Saturday morning at Mangrum Track & Field. The Cougars tallied 61 points, finishing just two points behind second-place Pomona-Pitzer and 41 points behind team champion Cal Poly Pomona.
FINISH LINE
- Alan Jimenez was the first Cougar to cross the line with a time of 24:29.1, which moved him up to No. 11 in CSUSM's Top 25 8K Performances
- Braden Oberg crossed in eighth place with a time of 24:45.7, breaking into CSUSM's Top 25 8K Performances with a share of 15th.
- Renton McGregor placed 11th overall, clocking in at 24:54.6 and moved him to No. 23 in CSUSM's Top 25 8K Performances.Â
- Sankalp Shastri finished 22nd with a time of 25:18.8.
- Aidan O'Toole rounded out CSUSM's scoring five in 24th place at 25:26.2.
- Jayson Oliver (34th, 25:45.0) and Jacob Perez (43rd, 26:08.1) also competed for the Cougars.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Cougars will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 27, when they travel north to compete in the UC Riverside Invitational.
