HOW IT HAPPENED
- Humboldt began the game with an 8-0 run in the first 3:13 and took its first double-digit lead at 12-2 on a Marsai Mason jumper with 14:41 to go in the half.
- CSUSM trimmed the deficit down to six at 20-14 on a Veljko Muntilak layup at the 8:48 mark of the period.
- Up 27-21, the Lumberjacks went on a 9-0 run and took their largest lead of the half at 36-21 on a Josiah Sanders jumper with 2:57 remaining.
- The Cougars ended the half on a 6-0 run and cut the deficit to 39-30 on a Dexter Stratton tip-in layup with 22 seconds remaining.
- CSUSM shot 37.5% (12-of-32) in the first 20 minutes while Humboldt in at 44.1% (15-of-34).
- Beginning the second half on a 14-5 run, the Lumberjacks took an 18-point lead at 53-35 on a Sanders fastbreak layup with 15:39 to go.
- The Cougars were only able to trim the Lumberjack lead down to 13 at 55-42 after a Kyelin King jumper with 12:18 remaining.
- Humboldt took its largest lead of the contest at 66-47 on a Briscoe layup with 9:25 left in the game.
- CSUSM shot just 28.1% (9-of-32) from the field in the second half while Humboldt shot 60% (15-of-25).

FAST BREAKS
- CSUSM was held to 32.8% (21-of-64) from the field while Humboldt finished the night at 50.8% (30-of-59).
- The Cougars had more steals (10-6) and fewer steals (10-14) than the Lumberjacks, but Humboldt had the edge in rebounds (38-29), assists (14-7) and blocks (5-1).
- CSUSM scored 13 second-chance points to Humboldt's six.
- The Lumberjacks led for 39:19 and never surrendered the lead.
