CARSON, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team (3-16, 3-10 CCAA) concluded its four-game road trip with a 79-66 loss at (RV) conference-leader Cal State Dominguez Hills (17-4, 13-1 CCAA) on Saturday at the Torodome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Toros began the game on an 11-1 run in the first four minutes.
- Two free throws by Alex Garcia put CSUDH up 27-10 with 5:46 remaining in the first half.
- The Cougars closed the gap with an 18-4 run and cut the deficit to 31-28 at halftime.
- CSUSM shots just 25.9% (7-of-27) in the first half while CSUDH came in at 37.9% (11-of-29). The Cougars made 13 of their 18 first-half free throws (72.2%).
- The Cougars made it a 31-30 game out of the break with a driving layup by Micah Boone to begin the second half.
- CSUDH began pulling away and took their largest lead of the game at 21 points following a driving layup by Garcia with 8:16 to go.
- CSUSM brought the deficit back down to 12 following two free throws by Kyelin King with 48 ticks remaining.
- The Cougars shot 54.2% (13-of-24) from the field in the second half while going 10-of-12 (83.3%) from the charity stripe. The Toros shot 63.3% (19-of-30) from the field while going 7-of-14 (50%) from 3-point range.

- CSUSM ended the game shooting 39.2% (20-of-51) while CSUDH finished at 50.8% (30-of-59).
- The Cougars won the rebound battle at 31-30.
- The Toros tallied more assists (22-9), steals (7-4) and blocks (4-2) while committing fewer turnovers (10-13).
- CSUDH led for all but 25 seconds of the game.
- CSUSM scored 14 second-chance points to CSUDH's 10 and had a 32-9 advantage in bench points.
