SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team (3-2) earned an 85-50 victory over Nobel (0-9) on Saturday afternoon at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• CSUSM opened with a 7-0 run capped by a Dexter Stratton fastbreak layup at 15:47 and Aaron Ragen followed with back-to-back threes to make it 13-4 at 14:20 of the first half.
• Keavie Love hit a 3-pointer at 9:21, then assisted Micah Boone on a fastbreak dunk at 8:41 as the Cougars stretched the lead to 24-10.
• Myles Harvey's fastbreak layup with 1:29 remaining preceded a Tengan buzzer-beating 3-pointer, giving CSUSM a 21-point cushion at halftime. CSUSM took a 42-21 lead into the halftime break after shooting 48.6% (17-of-35) to Nobel's 43.5% (10-of-23).
• Love began the second half with a 3-pointer at 19:39, and Remington Rofer added a trey at 18:59 to push the margin to 48-23.
• Jaylin Leslie's alley-oop layup from Carrillo at 11:24, followed by a Leslie 3-pointer at 8:29, helped keep the advantage near 30.
• Stratton scored on consecutive paint finishes at 7:01 and 6:56, ballooning the lead to 31 (73-42).
• Carrillo connected from deep at 2:38 and Ryan Conner added another triple at 3:43 as CSUSM closed out the 85-50 win.
