COURSE REPORT: The Cal State San Marcos men's cross country team claimed third place at the UCI/CUI Irvine Invitational with a score of 73.
 
FINISH LINE

• Nick Melanese moved up five spots in the final kilometer to take fifth place with a time of 25:28.2.
• Alan Jimenez finished in the top 10 at 25:43.0 for 10th place.
• Chas O'Bearr and Ataklty Gebru went 18th (26:02.4) and 19th (26:04.7), followed by Renton McGregor's 21st-place finish (26:06.8).
• Quentin Hardy claimed 34th place after turning in a time of 26:34.4.
• Jacob Brown rounded out CSUSM's scoring seven with 43rd place at 26:39.5.

"Both teams executed our approach well today. That commitment will help us set up the next part of our season, and we are looking forward to Riverside in two weeks.
