HAYWARD, Calif. – The (RV) Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (3-1-3) closed out non-conference play with a 2-2 draw at Cal State East Bay (4-2-1) on Saturday evening at Pioneer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Taking a long free kick from midfield in the 25th minute, Natalie Paulson found the head of her sister Danielle Paulson just in front of the goal, who headed the ball into the right corner of the goal to put CSUSM up 1-0.
- The Cougars put both of their shots in the first half on goal while the Pioneers' three shots were not on goal. CSUSM also had all four of the half's corner kicks. The Cougars had possession for 58% of the first 45 minutes.
- A cross from the right side of the box from Kayla Knoob to Isabelle Walsh on the left side found the net with a shot by Walsh just in front of the keeper to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead in the 49th minute.
- After a CSUSM foul in the upper left corner of the box, CSUEB's Mika Sayfurahman put a penalty kick into the center of the net to cut the deficit to 2-1.
- With time running out, Sayfurahman took a free kick just outside the top of the box and put a shot into the right corner of the goal to knot the game at 2-2 in the 89th minute.

- CSUSM extended its unbeaten streak to six games with its second consecutive draw.
- This was the second consecutive 2-2 tie between the Cougars and Pioneers, and it was the third straight draw since last season.
- CSUSM still maintains a 6-1-4 record in the all-time series and is now 4-0-3 when playing East Bay in Hayward.
- Danielle Paulson's goal was her second of the season while Natalie Paulson's assist was her first point of the year.
- Walsh's goal was the first of her career, while Knoob's assist was her second of the season, giving her a team-leading 10 points.
- The Pioneers ended up with the edge in shot at 8-7 while the Cougars had more shots on goal at 5-2. All seven CSUSM shots were by different Cougars.
- CSUSM posted six corners to CSUEB's three.
