TURLOCK, Calif. – Playing in cold rain and ending after midnight, the No. 19 Cal State San Marcos softball team (17-11) dropped a 1-0 decision to Western Washington (21-4) on Saturday night in Stanislaus State's Tournament of Champions.

- Tallying three singles in the bottom of the second, WWU took a 1-0 lead on a Joie Baker RBI single through the left side.

- WWU starter Joie Baker (8-1) collected the win after seven shutout innings, giving up four hits and two walks while fanning eight batters.
