SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team (11-6, 10-2 CCAA) captured its third consecutive CCAA series win as it won 17-5 to complete Saturday's suspended game before earning a come-from-behind 8-6 victory in the series finale against Cal State San Bernardino (9-11, 2-8 CCAA) on Sunday at CSUSM Baseball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After CSUSB took a 1-0 lead on a Giovanni Del Negro RBI single in the top of the first, CSUSM bounced back with a three-run first inning on an RBI double by Mateo Lake and a two-run single by Rivera.
- The Coyotes cut the deficit to 3-2 in the top of the third as Jason Shedlock scored from third on an error at second.
- The Cougars took a 7-2 lead in the bottom of the third on a solo shot to left by Teunissen, a two-run double by Mahaffy and an RBI groundout by Chesterton.
- A sacrifice fly to center by Reece scored Jordan KU and put CSUSM up 8-2.
- A bases-clearing double by Patrick Fregoso trimmed the Cougars' lead to 8-5 in the top of the sixth.
- CSUSM then rattled off nine runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a commanding 17-5 lead.
- Due to a preset drop-dead time, the game was suspended after the completion of the sixth inning.
- CSUSM recorded the final three outs of the game in just six minutes on Sunday as Spencer Anderson finished the game with two strikeouts and a groundout.

- CSUSM starter Sammy Murphy (1-1) earned the win as he struck out two and allowed five runs on seven hits, three hit-by-pitches and a walk in 5.2 innings.
- CSUSB starter Dylan O'Connor (0-1) took the loss as he allowed seven runs (six earned) on seven hits and a walk while tallying three strikeouts in 2.1 innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Coyotes took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single to right center by Jake Borst and then went up 2-0 in the top of the second on an RBI fielder's choice by Riley Parker.
- A two-run triple by Jason Shedlock gave CSUSB a 4-0 lead in the top of the fourth.
- An RBI double to right by Daryl Ruiz and a sac fly to right by Jeremy Giesegh made it a 6-0 game for the Coyotes in the top of the fifth.
- CSUSM's comeback began in the bottom of the fifth as Mahaffy hit a leadoff homer to left center to cut the deficit to 6-1.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Teunissen and Sommay scored on an error at first with no outs before Reece scored from third on a wild pitch. Another wild pitch scored Lake, putting the Cougars within striking distance at 6-5.
- CSUSM finally overcame its six-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh as Mahaffy hit a one-out, two-run single to left to score Reece and Lake and give CSUSM a 7-6 lead.
- An RBI single to right by Lake provided some insurance in the bottom of the eighth as Sommay scored to make it 8-6.
- In the top of the ninth, Preston Kelly came in for Nate Jaramillo, who pitched a flawless eighth inning. Kelly got a groundout and strikeout before hitting a Coyote with a pitch. With the potential tying run at the plate, Kelly got the strikeout on four pitches to hand CSUSM the series win and earn his third save of the year.
