CSUSM, CSUEB Finish in Scoreless Draw on Senior Day

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (3-2-1) wrapped up non-conference play with a 0-0 draw against fellow CCAA foe Cal State East Bay (3-1-2) on Saturday at The Cage.
 
Prior to the game, CSUSM honored seniors Claire Hernandez, Emma Hord, Allison Marcure, Hunter Morton, Savanna Prado and Hannah Ramos.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Scoreless after 45 minutes, CSUSM had a 4-1 lead in the shots department and held the advantage on corner kicks at 3-2.
  • The Cougars had possession for 53% of the first half as Hernandez led the way with two shots.
  • It was much of the same in the second period as the Pioneers matched the Cougars with three shots for the half while each team had a shot on goal.

  • CSUSM ended the game with a 7-4 shot advantage while putting four shots on goal to East Bay's 1.
  • The Cougars' possessions were in Pioneer territory for 65% of the match.
  • Both teams took five corner kicks.
  • Hernandez finished the game with a match-leading two shots.
  • This is the second scoreless draw in the all-time series as both teams posted the same result in 2021 in Hayward.
  • CSUSM's unbeaten streak against East Bay now stands at seven games.
 
UP NEXT
With its six-game homestand in the books, CSUSM will hit the road for the first time this season and begin CCAA play as it travels to Stanislaus State for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday in Turlock.
