COURSE REPORT:Â The Cal State San Marcos women's cross country team placed third with a score of 140 in the 5K race at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

FINISH LINE
- Carly Schuerger was the first CSUSM runner to cross the finish line, recording a PR time of 18:06.2 to take seventh place.
- Emma Mills claimed a 14th-place finish with her own PR time of 18:18.0.
- Angela McManus turned in a PR time of 18:40 for 25th place.
- Maria Texis and Melissa Estrada were the next two Cougars to cross the line, with their own PR times of 19:07.3 (52nd) and 19:12.2 (59th), respectively.
- Emily Mendoza took 65th with a 19:18.3 while Elise Ortiz rounded out the CSUSM scoring with a PR time of 19:49 for 100th place.

"We faced some great competition today. It was a solid step forward, with lots to learn from and carry into next week. I look forward to the one week turnaround to our Cougar Challenge at home next week to see if we can take another step forward as a team."
