Cougars Selected as No. 6 Seed in NCAA Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Cal State San Marcos softball team is returning to the NCAA West Regional for the second consecutive season, announced on the NCAA Division II Softball Selection Show on Monday morning.

The No. 6-seeded Cougars (27-19) will head north to Rohnert Park to face No. 3-seeded and host Sonoma State (36-13) in the first round on Thursday at 12 p.m.

Joining the Cougars and Seawolves at the same site will be CCAA Tournament Champion and reigning West Regional champion Cal State Dominguez Hills who is the No. 2 seed and No. 7-seeded Azusa Pacific.

The other West Regional pod consists of top-seeded Concordia University Irvine (45-10), No. 4-seeded Northwest Nazarene (36-15), No. 5-seeded Cal State San Bernardino (31-20) and No. 8-seeded Biola (28-22).

This will be the first time the Cougars will face the Seawolves this season as their CCAA regular-season series in Rohnert Park March 10-11 was washed out due to rain.
