LOS ANGELES – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team (6-12, 0-8 CCAA) fell in both games of Saturday's doubleheader at Cal State LA (8-9, 3-5 CCAA) by scores of 6-5 and 12-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- LA began the scoring in the bottom of the first with a one-out RBI single to right by Piotrowski to go up 1-0.
- The Golden Eagles took a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run double by Nick Atkins, an RBI groundout by Matthew Piotrowski and an RBI single by Andrew Tovar.
- CSUSM made it a game in the top of the seventh with a four-run inning. Reece put the Cougars' first run of the game across on an RBI single to first before a two-run single to left center by Rivera. With one out, an RBI single through the left side by Adams cut the deficit to 5-4.
- The Golden Eagles took a 6-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth on a failed pickoff attempt that allowed Wilem Drozdowski to score from third.
- The Cougars were able to plate a run in the bottom of the ninth on an RBI single to right by Adams, but a groundout to the pitcher two batters later ended CSUSM's comeback.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. After Diaz was hit by a pitch, he scored from second on a one-out RBI single up the middle by Rivera.
- The Golden Eagles took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first on one swing by Matthew Piotrowski that went over the left field wall.
- LA broke the game wide open in the bottom of the second as it batted around with seven runs on six hits and a CSUSM error to go up 9-1.
- After Sean McGrew walked, advanced to second on a hit-by-pitch and moved over to third on a fly out, he scored on an error by the first baseman to cut CSUSM's deficit to 9-2 in the top of the third.
- A two-out RBI double down the right field line by Ethan Gonzalez put the Golden Eagles up 10-2 in the bottom of the fourth.
- LA went up 12-2 in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run homer by Piotrowski.
