SAN FRANCISCO – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (6-10, 4-4 CCAA) fell in four sets (15-25, 17-25, 25-22, 18-25) to San Francisco State (9-6, 5-2 CCAA) on Saturday afternoon in The Swamp.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Before the Cougars could blink, they found themselves down 16-5 in the opening set. The Gators captured the first set at 25-15 behind a .581 hitting percentage.
• SF State took another quick lead in the second set and cruised to a 25-17 win to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
• The third set was a whole different story as CSUSM came out on fire by taking an 18-13 lead to force a fourth set with a 25-22 win.
• The Gators pulled away at the halfway mark of the fourth set to clinch a 25-18 win.
