POMONA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (6-11, 4-5 CCAA) fell in three sets (16-25, 21-25, 15-25) to No. 17 Cal Poly Pomona (14-3, 7-2 CCAA) on Friday night in Kellogg Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• An 9-2 run to break a 10-all knot propelled the Broncos to a 25-16 win in the opening set. CPP hit .351 to CSUSM's .139 in the first set.
• CSUSM battled in the second set, forcing three lead changes and seven ties, but came up just short at 21-25 as CPP took a 2-0 lead.
• Behind a .455 clip, the Broncos took charge early in the third set and never looked back, completing the sweep with a 25-15 win.

• CSUSM is tied with Cal State Monterey Bay for seventh in the CCAA standings, just one game behind Sonoma State and Cal State East Bay who are tied for fifth place.
• Both teams tallied three blocks in the match.
