SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (7-11, 5-5 CCAA) took down No. 17 Cal Poly Pomona (14-4, 7-3 CCAA) in five sets on Saturday afternoon in The Sports Center by scores of 15-25, 25-15, 26-24, 16-25 and 15-13.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cal Poly Pomona wasted no time in the opening set, jumping out to a 7-1 lead and cruised to a 25-15 victory.
- The second set was flipped with CSUSM taking the quick lead at 6-1 and never looking back, holding the lead wire-to-wire for a 25-16 win to even the match at 1-1.
- The third set featured 11 tie scores and nine lead changes with the Cougars coming out on top after waving off a set point before collecting a 26-24 win.
- The Broncos broke a 4-all tie with a 9-2 run and cruised to a 25-16 win to force a fifth set.
- Despite five tie scores, CSUSM never trailed in the fifth set with Isabelle Bakken tallying three kills and a .750 clip to lead the Cougars to a 15-13 win.
