CSUSM to Visit CSUMB Before Hosting SF State

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (5-2-3, 2-0-2 CCAA) will make a quick trip up to Cal State Monterey Bay (2-4-4, 1-2-1 CCAA) for a 4:30 p.m. game on Thursday before returning to The Cage to begin its final homestand against San Francisco State (2-6-2, 1-2-1 CCAA) on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
 
LAST WEEK
  • CSUSM tallied a 6-0 win against Cal State Dominguez Hills last Friday with five players making up the scoring for the Cougars.
  • The Cougars didn't allow a single Toro shot while taking 24 of their own.
  • CSUSM's six-goal margin of victory was the largest in the NCAA Division II era (2015-present) and the largest since defeating Bethesda 9-0 in 2014.
  • The Cougars closed out the week with a scoreless draw against RV Cal State LA on Sunday to earn their fourth point of the weekend.

SUNDAY AT HOME AGAINST THE GATORS
  • SF State went 0-1-1 last week at home with a 2-0 loss to Cal Poly Humboldt on Friday before a 2-2 draw against Sonoma State on Sunday.

  • Head coach Bobby Renneisen enters his ninth year in charge of the women's program and 17th overall at CSUSM.
  • Renneisen's 2018 team made its second consecutive CCAA Tournament appearance while also handing No. 1 UC San Diego its lone regular-season loss.
  • Between 2006-13, Renneisen was an assistant/associate head coach for both the men's and women's soccer teams.
